Crochet Roses

June 15, 2011 at 10:42 am » Hille

When I saw these on the Royal Sisters blog, I really had to do one of my own! Very cute crochet roses for jewellery or all other kinds of embellishment. The original pattern can be found at Crochet Spot.

For my flower, I made different leaves than the pattern provided. Mine are worked in one piece and look more like sepals. This brings the advantage of covering the whole back side of the rose for a neater look and more stability than single leaves would produce.

I designed some graph paper this afternoon for the purpose of crafting and thought it would be nice to share it!

Graph Paper (35 x 55 squares, DIN A4)
pdf download (74 kb)

Graph Paper (75 x 120 squares, DIN A4)
pdf download (60 kb)

You can add per hand the title, date and the number of rows/stitches. Maybe these papers are of some use to you, feel free to download and work with them.

Granny Squares

I quite forgot this lovely cotton yarn which I ordered some time ago from Hamburger Wollfabrik. Perfect for grannies! I like simple and traditional granny squares. A granny square was the first pattern my grandmother taught me to crochet.

These ones have round centers in pastels and the outer areas are natural coloured. I want to make a blanket out of them.
