Corticelli Yarn Book No.18

June 14, 2011 at 9:39 am » Hille

Corticelli Yarn Book No.18 (published in 1922, downloadable at Antique Pattern Library) contains lots of cute vintage graphics and stylish 20ties fashion.

I think I will upload the pattern for the Spanish Mantilla scarf you can see on the image above. It´s a simple feather and fan pattern, originally worked in two colours. Surely it will look nice when knitted with lace yarn.

Download: Graph Paper

I designed some graph paper this afternoon for the purpose of crafting and thought it would be nice to share it!

Graph Paper (35 x 55 squares, DIN A4)
pdf download (74 kb)

Graph Paper (75 x 120 squares, DIN A4)
pdf download (60 kb)

You can add per hand the title, date and the number of rows/stitches. Maybe these papers are of some use to you, feel free to download and work with them.

Beehive Knitting Booklet No.9

June 3, 2011 at 1:41 pm » Hille

This knitting booklet from 1915 provided my profile picture and can be found in the Antique Pattern Library. Lots of good material to assort over there…

I love everything vintage, especially illustrations and advertising from old books and magazines. I could plaster the walls with them would it make any sense!

So blogging brings a new aspect to my collecting, at least I can embellish these sites instead of keeping the pics somewhere hidden on the computer.

Isn´t this kingfisher just cute for a yarn brand (ad is as well to find in Booklet No.9)?

Brilliant as Silk, warm like Wool, washes splendidly!

Sounds pretty perfect, I think I would buy it!

Ravelry Fun

Now that I´m a new member of Ravelry and have learnt something about groups, it is quite fun to look for interesting ones.

I like the way how the little pictures join together incidentally to become a kind of patchwork art.

Certainly it´s rather clear that you can´t be an active member in all groups, but it´s so nice to see so many crafters around the world with really all kinds of interests and all kinds of ideas you just can imagine, so you can´t resist to click on “Join this group” and be a very small part of it.
